I love the instant support groups that form after unusual events. There was an earthquake yesterday, a pretty sharp jolt, and although it didn't seem strong enough to have done any damage, I made a beeline for the common area at work to join the group I knew would be forming there.
The group only lasted for a few seconds, and noone said anything interesting, really. Sometimes people have amusing anecdotes to share, but that's not the important part; it's really more about the camaraderie of a shared experience. It's a coming-together.
