| who needs manual dexterity? |

We have a bowl of hard candies at work. Today, after listening to the crinkly noise of Alex unwrapping a peppermint-flavored oblate spheroid for upwards of fifteen seconds, I initiated the following conversation:
| Me: |
“Taking your time with that?” |
| Alex: |
“They're hard to open.” |
| Me: |
“You're supposed to open them by pulling the twisty things at both ends.” |
| Alex: |
“I didn't read the manual!” |
Which makes me wonder: where did I learn this trick? Now that I think about it, it's not exactly obvious. But I don't remember ever not knowing it, or witnessing someone learn it, or, before today, finding out about someone that doesn't know it.

I'm not a fan of hard candy, so I hadn't noticed until today that the candy we have in the office is unusually hard to open.
Either that, or I've really lost my touch. | |
